Knowledge collaboration

Qualified and accredited Conservators help achieve inter-generational survival of objects that illustrate our history and frame our future. The physical embodiment of our ancestor’s interaction with the world are all too easily lost without understanding of the chemical and physical processes causing their deterioration. Even when we do understand, the decision on how to act takes many years of experience and skill. Professional Conservators have a unique mix of trained hand skills and years of academic study to satisfy the needs of Government organizations and the most discerning private heritage owners and art investors.

Applied Conservation Science Pty Ltd is owned and coordinated by David Thurrowgood.

David is a former Manger of Collection Care at the State Library of New South Wales, former Head of Conservation at the National Gallery of Victoria, and former Senior Conservator at the National Museum of Australia. He qualified in Conservation at the University of Canberra, and is an accredited Professional member of the AICCM.
